I came across a blog that talked about cauliflower rice, and how to make batches of it and freeze it. It is the fall harvest and cauliflower is cheaper right now. In the middle of winter, Cauliflower goes up 3 times in price… so it made sense to make Cauliflower rice now and save them in the freezer. I managed to make 20 bags!
I used Ziplock medium bags, as this is for just my husband and myself. The kids have flown the nest and are living their own lifestyles until they come to visit for Sunday Family Dinner.
Each bag holds approx 3 – 4 cups.

I don’t really feel the need to steal her words – they are simple, quick and to the point.
I bought 10 heads of cauliflower – and used her method for raw cauliflower rice, and made 10 bags ready for the freezer. This used about 5 heads.
Here is an example of what I could do with the rice when I pull it out of the freezer.

I decided to contemplate a recipe that I have made a few times, that uses – roasted curried cauliflower rice, and decided to make that part of the recipe, and freeze that rice.then took this recipe that I have used a couple of times and made the curried cauliflower rice from the recipe and made 10 bags of that for the freezer.
That took care of the other 5 heads and gave me another 10 bags.
It helped me realize that you could roast cauliflower with various seasonings, and rice it for freezer bags.
